Story World Sessions (Nursery – Year 4)
Our unique play environment provides an inspiring venue for school visits. Our first floor Story World provides a wide range of interactive activities that use creative play to engage children and support development of communication, creativity, and literacy skills.
Sessions run for 90 minutes and include:
- Storytelling
- Interactive story building (a collaborative storytelling methodology pioneered by Discover)
- Free play in dedicated immersive space
- Facilitated craft, games and drama activities
Sessions are suitable for children or groups with special educational needs (SEN – up to 15 children) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) needs. Schools must provide as much information on pupil needs as possible at least two weeks in advance of the session.
About Story World school sessions
Meet Discover’s resident baby space monster Hootah and hear about his adventures here on earth and back on his home planet Squiggly Diggly.
Story World sessions fuse storytelling, play, discussion and creativity to give children a safe space in which to explore and expand their imaginations. Each session runs for 90 minutes and involves a section of time in which pupils are able to play freely in the space through self-led exploration – this allows their imaginations to run wild and gives them time to find a spark for an idea and begin the creative process.

Session times – term-time only
Monday – Thursday
10.00am – 11.30am
Please note that schools are not permitted to arrive earlier than 9.45am.
Visits do not include access to the ground floor Story World or extended access to the dedicated workshop space beyond the 90 minutes. After your session, we permit 30 minutes of additional free play in our garden.
Prices
One class of up to 30 children: £200 +VAT
Two classes of up to 30 children each: £355 +VAT
One SEN class of up to 15 children: £150+ VAT
(We are unable accept double SEN class bookings.)

We have limited space available for school lunching. If you require a room for lunch, please book this with our Bookings Team ahead of your visit, at an additional cost of £20.
