Bring the magic of Discover to your classroom.
Explore books, build stories, and engage in related craft activities, all facilitated by our expert Story Builders in your classroom. Drawing on Discover’s Story Building methodology, these sessions spark children’s creativity and allow pupils to explore their imaginations to produce stories together, increase confidence with language, and foster a love of storytelling and books.
Sessions are available for EYFS, KS1 or lower KS2 and are suitable for children with disabilities, SEN or EAL.

In this session, pupils will take part in interactive storytelling, explore story structures, settings and characters and get a chance to build their own brand-new story.
Safe working in your school
Covid-19 safety awareness: Our Story Builders have been inducted to Discover’s new Covid-19 safety measures published August 2020. Where necessary, we can amend delivery structure to meet your schools Covid-19 safety requirements such as restricting sessions to a year group/social bubble.
Covid-19 staff/resource procedures: Staff will wear masks and/or visors while visiting your site and will maintain a 2-meter distance from pupils while facilitating sessions. In addition, staff will wash hands upon arrival at the outreach site and between sessions with classes. Schools will be required to provide their own pencils and paper, but any essential resources that Discover brings into the school will be refreshed for each class i.e. wipe-cleaned, washed or quarantined for 48 hours prior to the visit.
Safeguarding / DBS: Story Builders have recently undergone Safeguarding and Child Protection training and have current Enhanced DBS checks, which will be brought and shown to reception staff at your school.
