Application closing on Tue 7 Jan 5pm 2025
Would you like to be part of an organisation dedicated to inspiring children’s imaginations?
Discover is seeking up to three passionate, committed individuals to support its next chapter, bringing additional strength and expertise to its existing group of 11 trustees. We are particularly keen to hear from people who:
- live, learn or earn in Newham;
- have expertise in early years child development;
- who work in children’s publishing.
If you’ve never been a Trustee before, no worries: we provide full training and mentoring, and will welcome you as an individual with your own life experience to contribute to discussions.
Discover is the UK’s first Story Centre for children aged 0-11 and their families, proudly rooted in Newham, East London. We believe that stories are critical to child development, that they can transform lives and shape strong and vibrant communities. We are committed to supporting the curiosity, creativity and imagination of all children through excellent artistic, creative play and learning experiences.
This year, Discover is celebrating its 21st birthday. We’ve welcomed over 1 million visitors so far and evolved our support for creative literacy through numerous projects and programmes with local children at their heart. We are now embarking on a major transformation project that will equip us to serve the next 1 million children.
These are voluntary, unremunerated posts.
