Support Discover and transform children's lives through stories...

Discover turns 20 this year!

Help us celebrate 20 years in Newham by supporting our work to engage over 100,000 children with stories each year. As part of our birthday celebrations, we are fundraising to provide free tickets to local families facing disadvantage. If you are able to donate to support Discover’s work with our local communities we would be very grateful.

“Our mums just adore you. Transformational to be able to spend creative time with children being guided by the fantastic story builders. We are so lucky to have such a magical ever-changing world-of wonder on our doorstep. ” From The Magpie Project for mums facing homelessness
“Without a doubt the best project I’ve been part of in 10 years’ teaching. ” Teacher from St John’s Primary School on 'Catching Words' project
“Once I get a good story, I get confident so people can be amazed with my imagination. ” Year 5 'Story Slam' project participant.
“It made me realise we can push them further than we do. Don’t limit their ideas; be ambitious. ” Literacy co-ordinator from our schools programme.
“A child with a disability isn’t just tolerated but positively welcomed. The children can have the kind of time they want to match their different moods… For us, Discover is a home from home. ” 'Mighty Mega' parent

Our mission is to transform lives through stories, creativity and imagination. We aim to contribute to a world where confident, thoughtful, articulate children grow up to shape a better future for all. Engaging children with reading, writing and drawing supports their success in learning and communication skills.

We are rooted in the borough of Newham, one of the UK’s most diverse areas, from where we can resonate throughout east London and beyond.

Discover Children’s Story Centre is a registered charity, number 1070468.
