Visitor Services Manager

The Operations team are responsible for ensuring the first class delivery of Discover’s visitor facing services and the overall management of the venue. The Visitor Services Manager will have visitor care and high standards of presentation at the forefront of everything they deliver. They will work closely with the Head of Operations to ensure the operations department runs efficiently and visitors have a high quality experience.

The Manager’s working week will be on a rota basis with the Visitor Services Supervisors ensuring that Discover has the appropriate level of Operational Management across the whole building during hours of operation.

 

Overview of the role 

  • To take a lead role in delivering a welcoming, presentable, safe and consistent standard of the venue.
  • To direct and support the work of the Visitor Services Supervisors, and Visitor Services Assistants, ensuring all sales/cash reconciliation and statistical reporting is completed in a timely and highly accurate manner.
  • To take the lead on delivering and further developing Discovers robust training plan. Ensuring new and existing staff have the skills and knowledge required to ensure consistency of offer and service and provide a safe and compliant space for our visitors.
  • To work in partnership with the Head of Operations to monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals and performance reviews.
  • To monitor the upkeep and condition of the visitor areas and relate relevant maintenance reports and/or instructions to the cleaning and maintenance teams where necessary to maintain the highest standards of presentation.
  • To meet, greet and welcome visitors to the venue and to provide them with all of the relevant support they will require.

Terms

Contract: 40 hours per week 9.00am-5.30pm, 5 days out of 7 on rota basis.

Pay: £35,000 per annum

All staff are required to complete a DBS check.
