Discover is the UK’s first Story Centre for children aged 0-11 and their families, based in Stratford, rooted in the borough of Newham, and resonating through east London and beyond. We are an inspirational cultural resource, providing excellent story-based play and learning experiences for all children to support and develop a love of language, literature, and storytelling. At the heart of the centre are our purpose-built Story Worlds and Story Garden which are creative play spaces designed to inspire children’s curiosity, creativity, and imagination.  

 

Discover Children’s Story Centre’s Community and Education Manager is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team to develop and deliver a creative programme of learning working with schools and the community.  

You will understand the importance of aligning creativity, fun and imagination with the delivery of learning scheme and curriculum needs and will understand that inclusivity is a constant thread that runs through all we do. An opportunity to combine educational activity design and development and delivery of learning and community programmes makes this a rare and highly rewarding role.

Salary: £27,000 per annum  

Hours: 35 hrs. per week Monday to Friday – with requirement for some evening and weekend work.

Location: A regular presence is required in Discover Story Centre in Stratford, East London to deliver this role effectively however it is possible to work remotely 1 day per week.  

Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays.
