Our new Family Forum will be a place for parents, carers and younger kids to give their input into Discover's activity.
We’re currently looking for people interested in joining this new forum. Here’s a bit more about what that might involve:
Why be a Family Forum member:
- A chance to feedback on Discover’s work and future plans – helping guide what we do with your knowledge and experience.
- Free visits to Discover – every time you come to a meeting (which will themselves be fun, and involve tea and cake…) you can come back and play another time for free.
What being a Family Forum member will involve:
- Meeting at Discover – we’ll hold a meeting every 2-3 months but we wouldn’t expect everyone to join every meeting.
- We’ll invite parents, carers and their children to join us – we’ll make the sessions fun with crafts, storytelling, tea and cake.
- We’ll have different topics each time. We might focus on our cafe offer in one session, in another we might ask about visiting with young babies or how we can be more welcoming to LGBTQ+ families – some topics may be more relevant to specific families while some will be broader.
- We’d expect meetings to be at the weekend, with the first one in June 2024.
What we’re looking for:
- Everybody! We want to make sure we’re getting feedback from a big range of visitors – the only requirement is that you have a child aged between 0-8.
- We have a space on the interest form to tell us about your family, if you can let us know as much as you can that will help us work out who to invite to particular sessions.
How to get involved:
We’re looking for interested families at the moment. You can let us know if you’d like to join by filling in this short form.
