Storytelling with Alex Willmore

Things to see & do

Welcome to the Antarctic, where an intrepid bunch of explorers is making an in-depth study of penguins.

But one young explorer has discovered something different. Something totally wild, spectacularly cool and quite a lot... EXTINCT.

Join author and illustrator Alex Willmore for a read-along of his hilariously funny and prehistoric picture book I Did See a Mammoth.

Take part in a group drawing of a mammoth where YOU get to decide what clothes they wear and what kind of story adventures they’ll get up to.

About Alex Willmore

Since he could first hold a pencil, Alex has been drawing characters, bringing each to life with a sense of mischief and fun. He has won the 2020 Shrewsbury Book Fest award and The FCBG 2020 award for his illustrations in The Runaway Pea, as well as being nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal. A love of fun storytelling and growing up on 80s cartoons led Alex to write his own books, which combine captivating characters and quirky exploits, along with a positive moral message.

Alex currently lives in his hometown of Northampton with his wife, two sons, and their cats.
