About Shyala Smith
Shyala Smith is an author and screenwriter working in film marketing. She centres her stories around the themes of navigating immigrant life and discovering magic. Her debut picture book, Sai’s Magic Silk, was published by Tate Publishing in 2023. Her next book, The Language of Flowers, will be published by Lantana Publishing in September 2024. Born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Shyala and her family currently reside in London, UK.
