Things to see & do

Last chance to see our best-selling exhibition, Monster Funfair.

£5 per person.

Access to Monster Funfair only  — the rest of Discover is closed for transformative building work.

Step through the circus tent and into the woods, in amongst the trees you’ll find a fantastical, marvellous, extraordinary… Monster Funfair! But wait, there’s a crucial thing missing from this marvellous and astounding world – SOMEONE has stolen ALL the candyfloss. Can you help our Story Builders hunt down the culprits?

Created with the award-winning Nadia Shireen and filled with games to play and characters to meet, this immersive world of play and storytelling has something for everyone aged 0-8 and their families.

About Nadia Shireen

Nadia Shireen has been making picture books since 2010, when her debut Good Little Wolf burst onto the scene and was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. Since then, she’s published many more books including Barbara Throws A Wobbler, Billy and the Beast, The Cow Who Fell To Earth and Geoffrey Gets the Jitters. In 2017, The Bumblebear was distributed to over 700,000 children as part of Booktrusts’s Time To Read campaign. Her anarchic series for older readers, Grimwood, was a World Book Day title in 2022 and has since taken the playgrounds of the nation by storm. Nadia has won the UKLA book prize twice, and lost many others (though she still likes to be nominated.) She lives in Brighton.
