While our building is closed, we're hosting play, crafts, bookshop and storytelling fun in a space in the Stratford Centre. Pop in to the pop up anytime between 10am-5pm or book a timed storytelling event.

Discover’s building on Stratford High Street is undergoing some exciting building work (find out more here) and will reopen mid-late May. To keep the play and stories going, we’re opening a temporary pop up space in Stratford Centre. Join us for crafts, play, stories and books.

Discover Pops Up! will be open every day from 10am – 5pm

Every day from Friday 6 March – Sunday 17 May (closed Easter Sunday)

Where

Discover Pops Up! at Stratford Centre is located 5 minutes walk from Discover’s home on Stratford High Street, and 4 minutes walk from Stratford station and bus station. We’re located at the heart of the shopping centre, opposite Costa Coffee.

What you can do here

Our pop up space is a place for families to take time out for stories, crafts and play. You can visit the space for free – or book paid tickets for our cosy storytelling sessions for 0-3 year olds.

Interactive, sensory storytelling sessions – aimed at 0-3 year olds:

  • Our rolling programme of storytelling includes our super-popular Baby Storytelling (with toys and stay-and-play) and some of the best of our sensory, interactive 0-5 Storytelling sessions, like Wakey Wakey, Duck Pond and more. These are events are ticketed, priced at £2-£4.

Need to know

  • Entry to Discover Pops Up! is free – with storytelling sessions in our cosy, dedicated story space priced between £2-£4.
  • Discover Pops Up! is currently cash free – we only accept card payments.
  • Our Pop Up Bookshop is open to everyone, but all play areas and storytelling sessions are only for adults accompanied by children (and children accompanied by adults).
  • Capacity to the space is limited and admittance will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Ticketed storytelling sessions can be booked in advance on our website or on the day in the space – these are small sessions with very limited capacity, please do book before visiting if you can, to avoid disappointment. Tickets will be on sale up to two weeks in advance.
  • We have buggy parking, baby change and a quiet space for breastfeeding. Full toilet facilities are available close by in Stratford Centre.
