We are not selling new Annual Passes or renewing passes from now onwards as we are phasing out our current Annual Pass offer.
Discover will be closing from Monday 23 February until mid-end May. We’ll have new annual ticket offers when we reopen.
Our big ‘Up and Out’ project
We are closing to do some very exciting work, including:
- Building a magical garden-themed space specifically for 0-2 year olds. (And it will be shoes-off!)
- Improving our welcome with a new café downstairs and upgraded bookshop and entrance.
- Making our building more environmentally sustainable – with air source heat pumps, solar panels and more.
- Improving our family facilities and accessibility throughout the building with upgraded toilets, more disabled toilets, extra handrails, hearing loops and more.
- And a little later on (opening for summer 2026) an amazing, accessible ‘Story Tree’ will be sprouting up through our internal lightwell.
While we’re closed, we’ll also have a pop-up storytelling space in Stratford Centre (currently planned to open Thursday 5 March). Stay tuned for more information on this!
Current Annual Pass Holders
Your current pass will still be active until it reaches its expiry. You will have been contacted via email to let you know:
- We’ll be closed for 3 months, but we’ll be adding 4 months of extra time onto your Annual Pass so you can visit us after we reopen – plus some extra free Exhibition or Storytelling tickets.
- We’ll invite you to a super-special soft launch, so you’ll have the chance to be the first to see our new spaces.
- We are not selling new passes or renewing passes from now onwards as we are phasing out our current Annual Pass offer, but we’ll have new annual ticket offers when we reopen, that you’ll be able to use when your current pass expires.
