This summer, Mighty Mega will be joined by dance and performance artists Paracarnival, from Saturday 2 July to Sunday 11 September.

Week 1

Introducing the first online session from Paracarnival. Get ready for a spring-loaded programme of dance moves, signing, drumming, sing-along, disco and dressing up every Saturday.

This week, start with a warmup. Then learn a carnival sign-dancing routine.

Week 2

Find out how to create different sounds using recycled objects and ingredients used in the kitchen. Followed by some music using our new musical instruments. Get ready to shake and shimmy away.

You’ll need chickpeas; rice, a coffee cup, cans, a water bottle, a frying pan and a wooden spoon.

Week 3

In this week’s video, join Paracarnival in their colourful studio for more music, dancing — and a special royal guest appearance.

Start with a warm-up, then learn a new sign-dancing routine that celebrates YOU and all the things that make you unique.

Week 4

1, 2, 3, come along and make a beat with me.

In this week’s video join Xi-mali from Paracarnival showcasing a samba class. Starting with creating a beat, followed by a sing along and dancing to the samba.

You’ll need a frying pan or pot, wooden spoon and the groovy instruments you made in week 2.

Week 5

Join Bettina from Paracarnival in this week’s warm up, sing along and dance. You’ll learn a special song called ‘Peace Like River’, all about peace, love, and joy.

Week 6

Come along and groove to the samba 🕺💃

In this week’s video, warm up with Kathleen. Then, join Bettina and Xi-mali in how to samba step. The samba step is a wonderful, stimulating dance you can share with your special ones and have you ready for carnival.

Week 7

Don’t Worry About A Thing in this week’s video and join Bettina for some British Sign Language inspired movement and dance, listening along to the classic Bob Marley and the Wailers song, Three Little Birds. Also find out about the title for the new song for Carnival, which has an environmental theme.
