In the first session of a brand new term of Mighty Mega, get to know Andre from Dende Collective who will be joining you for drama, storytelling and crafts in the coming weeks. Start with a Makaton meet and greet, followed by a warm-up and games. Then, head into the Amazon for a story introducing the native Brazilians who live in the forest amongst all kinds of plants and wildlife.
Head back into the Amazon Forest for the second part of the story The Children Who Became Stars. This week, find out what happens when the native women of the forest take a break from foraging and preparing food to take a plunge in the river. Plus: get to know each other by drawing your unique family tree, transform into rainforest animals using some very special magic words, make your own boat out of newspaper, and join Andre in a crazy dance.
In our last trip to the Amazon forest, we saw the village children pocketing some stolen corn. Rejoin Andre this week for the next instalment of The Children Who Became Stars in which the cheeky children seek help from their granny to turn their bounty into cake.
Plus: get to know each other through the different places that you live, have fun mirroring Andre’s movements, craft your own turtle from simple household objects and, of course, finish off with a crazy dance.
Tune in for the final instalment of The Children Who Became Stars in this week’s storytime and play with Andre from Dende Collective. 💫
Last week, we saw a sneaky parrot with a fondness for gossiping spying on the village children’s cake-making schemes. Join Andre this week for the magical finale of the story, in which the children’s escapades are uncovered and they attempt to escape punishment by heading into the stars…
Plus: get to know each other through all the things that you enjoy most, play some theatre games, craft your own star mobile out of tin foil and string, and finish off by pretending to be a buzzing fly in Andre’s weekly crazy dance!
In this week’s workshop, Andre begins the telling of one of his favourite Portuguese stories in which a man meets a new friend, Teleco the Little Rabbit. But Teleco isn’t just any rabbit; Teleco has the magical ability to transform into all kinds of different animals…
Plus: learn how to say “hello” in Portuguese and celebrate all the different languages that you might know, get to know each other by exploring homes of all shapes and sizes, join in a game of guess-the-emotion, and finish off with Andre’s weekly crazy dance!
Last week, we met Teleco and learned of their magical ability to transform into different animals. This week, join Andre to find out what happens next, as the man invites his new friend to live with him and discovers Teleco’s fondness for pranks.
Plus: get to know each other by exploring all the different rooms in your home, say hello Andre’s mum, experiment with moving in square movements and play a game of guess-the-action. Of course, finish off the session with Andre’s weekly crazy dance!
This week, Teleco the rabbit returns – but not as a rabbit! Find out how Teleco and the man find a way to live happily together. Plus: Andre talks about masks and shows us his collection, we get ready to go out, and we play a fun game of musical statues!
This week, follow along as Andre shows you how to make all kinds of different masks using simple craft materials – including a robot, sun and dragon. All you will need is a couple of round paper plates, a pencil, coloured paper tissue or crayons, tape, scissors and an adult to help you. Plus: get to know more about Andre and his family as he shares his baby photos!
There was once a little village on a hill where the residents lived calm and peaceful lives. Until one day… the peace is disrupted when dragons suddenly appear in town.
Enjoy the first part of The Dragons in this week’s video. Plus: explore the bustling street where Andre lives and does his shopping, and play a game of Captain Fishfingers.
Last week we came across a beautiful town suddenly hit by an invasion from unknown creatures. When the invaders turned out to be colourful and fierce dragons, the people of the town isolated them out of fear. This week, join Andre to find out where their journey leads to next as the dragons are hit with an infection leaving behind just two particularly cheeky dragons…
Plus: Get to know each other by joining Andre on a trip to his favourite cinema and say hello again to Andre’s mum in a game of dialogue movement. Finishing with our weekly crazy dance!
Last week we followed the journey of the last two cheeky dragons. Landing themselves in big trouble for their mischief plan to steal money from the bank. This week join Andre for part three, full of twists and unexpected turns leading to only one dragon left…
Plus, get to know each other by joining Andre on a trip to the park. It’s also time for a mini workout with some jogging and stretching. Once again, we have our special guest Andre mum assisting in this week’s game of gibberish, all about making sounds and having fun. Lastly, it’s time to shimmy, groove and twist with Andre in this week’s crazy dance.
Get to know each other by learning how Andre travels from home. One clap, two clap, three clap, more. Clap at the same time as Andre in this week’s warm up. Join in with Andre and his mum in another theatre game about giving and receiving.
Then, join Andre as he finishes the dragon’s tale. The last dragon is now the popular fire breathing dragon in town. Find out what happens next when the circus steps into town followed by unexpected events…
Inspired by all the colourful stories we’ve all enjoyed from Dende Collective this term, transform a used egg box into a fire-breathing dragon and some simple card into some bunny ears in this craft session. You will need: card, a stapler, a pencil, felt tips, scissors and an adult to help you.
Plus, a special goodbye message from Andre and Dende Collective.
