Have you ever met an invisible dog? Join Ruby Wright for storytelling, crafts and a peek into the world of invisible pets!
Ruby will read her picture book Invisible Dogs then she’ll use a smell-blaster to see if children can identify the invisible dogs (they smell of roses) and invisible pens to draw some pets for us, and it is up to the kids to use the detector (UV light) to find them. Finally, each child will get a little box to create their own invisible pet and its home, with the help or Ruby.
About the book
When you start at a new school, sometimes you need to take a best friend (or two).
Ida is noisy at home, but at her new school she totally silent. Luckily, Grandpa knows how to cheer her up by playing their invisibles game and Ida adopts two invisible dogs. After adventures both funny and (sometimes) smelly, her dogs help Ida to be brave and share her imaginary world with the other children, making brand new friends.
About the author
Ruby studied sculpture, which informs her distinctive illustration style but doesn’t explain why she plays the musical saw. She lives in a flat with her Mr, two very funny children and absolutely no pets. Animal Crackers was her debut book swiftly followed by the brilliant Invisible Dogs.
